This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to sustain and develop an environment in which continuous improvement, innovation and learning are promoted and rewarded. The unit applies to individuals with managerial responsibilities who aim to build a better and more effective work environment. Continuous improvement and innovation have links with the model of the learning organisation and people working at this level play an important role in building the culture, values and attitudes of the organisation. This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to work in partnership with industry, enterprises and community groups to provide a range of learning and development services. It covers preparing for the partnership as well as negotiating, implementing, maintaining, evaluating and reviewing the partnership arrangement. It applies to individuals within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) who are planning to work in partnerships, or who are already working in partnership, with an organisation such as an industry group, enterprise or community group, to provide a learning and development service, or related service. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to support adult learners to extend their language, literacy and numeracy skills within a workplace or community context. It requires a sound knowledge of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) and skills to extend own practice, and the practice of others. This unit applies to experienced trainers who provide leadership or guidance to others, and who deal with the language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) needs of learners for a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
