This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to lead diversity for a work area. It covers implementing the organisation’s diversity policy, fostering diversity within the work team and promoting the benefits of a diverse workplace. The unit applies to individuals who direct the work of others in teams of variable sizes. They may work with staff from different cultures, races, religions, generations, or other forms of difference in any industry context. This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to work in partnership with industry, enterprises and community groups to provide a range of learning and development services. It covers preparing for the partnership as well as negotiating, implementing, maintaining, evaluating and reviewing the partnership arrangement. It applies to individuals within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) who are planning to work in partnerships, or who are already working in partnership, with an organisation such as an industry group, enterprise or community group, to provide a learning and development service, or related service.
